Another advantage of saving the addresses in the address book is that you can take a backup of it at any point of time. In this post, we will help you to take a backup of Outlook address book. You have two options available to take the backup. Either backing up from the registry of your computer or exporting the Address book from the email program.
Backup from Registry

Another advantage of saving the addresses in the address book is that you can take a backup of it at any point of time. In this post, we will help you to take a backup of Outlook address book. You have two options available to take the backup. Either backing up from the registry of your computer or exporting the Address book from the email program.
Backup from Registry
- Open the Start menu by clicking the Windows logo on your desktop.
- Choose the option Run, which you will find in the right pane of the Start menu.
- In the Run window, enter regedit and click OK.
- The above step will open the Registry Editor window.
- In the Registry Editor window, go to the location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name.
- When you find the address book file, right click on it and choose the option Copy.
- Go to another location in your computer and right click.
- Select the option Paste and this will create a backup of the address book in your computer.
- Select the option Start and go to All Programs.
- Choose Microsoft Office and select Microsoft Outlook.
- Once the program comes up, press the keys Ctrl + Shift + B together.
- The above step will open the window for Address Book: Contacts.
- Select the option File and then Export.
- Choose Address Book WAB.
- Select a location to save the file in your computer.
